How is Viva Connections different to your SharePoint homepage?
Viva Connections is an ally for your SharePoint intranet, not a replacement. It takes the content from your SharePoint site and brings it into a dedicated homepage in Teams – making it available where people are already working.
You also don’t need a SharePoint intranet to use Viva Connections. You can create a Connections homepage from a blank slate, and choose which content to display. This is great for organisations who are yet to build their intranet, or are using a non-Microsoft solution.
Is Viva Engage good for deskless workers?
It’s a great way for frontline workers to meet and connect with colleagues who they rarely, if ever, see face-to-face.
Plus, premium features like Leadership Corner give field workers a chance to engage with organisational leaders.
Where does Viva Engage sit alongside your SharePoint intranet?
You can also embed Viva Engage into your intranet using web parts. They don’t have to work as separate channels – they can coexist and work together.
Which is best for pulse surveys - Viva Pulse or Viva Glint?
Viva Pulse is the best option for brief touchpoint surveys. It’s designed to get quick feedback from departments or project teams. It comes with some pre-built templates on topics like wellbeing, hybrid working and manager focus.
Viva Glint is more suited to your annual employee survey. It’s geared towards larger, organisation wide initiatives like cultural shifts or company strategy.
Can you deploy premium Viva features with Copilot turned off?
Yes. You don’t need to have Copilot in order to make the most of the other premium Viva features.
If your organisation isn’t ready for Copilot yet, this can be managed by your IT admin.
Can you tailor multi-channel content in Viva Amplify?
Yes. Viva Amplify helps internal communicators streamline multi-channel campaigns. It lets you write content once and send it to multiple channels in one go, like Viva Engage and Outlook. But you can still tailor it to suit each channel – so your Viva Engage version may be shorter than your email version.
Does Viva Engage give you persona-based engagement analytics?
Yes. You can see analytics by department, locations etc. This is dependent on some background plumbing, so you may need to collaborate with your IT colleagues.
Is Microsoft Viva better than having a separate employee app?
It helps keep everything under one roof, which makes it easier for employees to navigate and can help keep down costs.
