The Project Coordinator will play a key supporting role for:
The Portfolio Manager – contributing to portfolio governance, data capture & reporting and resource planning
The Delivery Managers – supporting them in the delivery lifecycle of our client projects
In addition, the Project Coordinator will work with many functions in the company to support the delivery of our small tasks portfolio, ensuring that all project logistics, budgets and related processes run smoothly.
For the right candidate, this role offers a unique opportunity to grow into Delivery Management with company support to gain formal Project Management qualifications.
Ensure that portfolio and project management tools are updated and reports generated from these tools are accurate and trustworthy. This will help to drive better informed decision making and make sure our teams are focused on the highest priorities.
Drive delivery of the small task portfolio – tracking, measuring and communicating progress internally and, on specific projects, to clients.
Support Delivery Managers in the delivery of their projects from discovery through to closure.
Help to identify, record and remove obstacles and blockers that might get in the way of delivery.
Contribute to our continuous improvement process by capturing lessons learned and case study materials on completion of our projects.
Interfacing with all members of the team to support them with tasks and issues relating to time recording and resource forecasting.
Essential Skills & Experience
1+ years of experience of Project Coordination, PMO, Portfolio administration or junior project management experience
Experience of working within a PMO or Portfolio management function, familiar with aspects of project governance & administration:
tracking and status reporting
risk and issues management
collation of key project documentation and deliverable for transition to support
Working knowledge of delivering small projects from discovery to closure (up to the value of £20K)
Basic Awareness and understanding of the types of project delivery processes: agile, “wagile” and waterfall
Basic Awareness of project management ceremonies (e.g. stand ups, sprint planning, retrospectives)
Good communications skills – able to lead an internal project meeting, present a project briefing etc
Working Knowledge of Microsoft tools e.g. Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, O365, PowerPoint, Excel
Previous experience of working in a Microsoft agency or any agency environment preferable
